Rev Dr Dorothy McRae McMahon wore her clerical collar to officially launch the month long Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival on the steps of the Sydney Opera House. The festival is when we say that we are everywhere. We are conductors of orchestras, we play good football, we are in schools as teachers and students and we are in church. We are not defined by our sexuality alone. We are spiritual and loving people. We claim with pride that we are people who have the right to love. Most of us would also claim that we are spiritual beings. We are people of body, mind heart and soul - full and free human beings. Rev Dr Dorothy McRae McMahon was one of the featured presenters alongside actor Richard Wherrett and Mardi Gras President Bev Lange 30 January 1998, Sydney, Australia |
